What is
Bahay ni iO?

bahay ni io (house of io) or bni is a vibrant hub where feminists, ngos, researchers, scholars, students, artists, and activists come together to collaborate, innovate, and inspire change. we provide a welcoming, dynamic, and accessible space with safe, comfortable, and affordable rooms ideal for workshops, meetings, events, and short-term stays – designed to foster creativity, connection, and transformative work. currently, io international and the women’s global network for reproductive rights (wgnrr) hold offices in bni.

io international is a nonprofit organization. all payments made for the use of its facilities are treated as donations, with collected fees directed toward the upkeep of our building and covering operational expenses. at bahay ni io, we offer a variety of versatile meeting rooms tailored for training, workshops, social gatherings, and special events. our flexible spaces can accommodate any group activity, complemented by an inviting patio set against the backdrop of a beautiful garden.

OUR SPACES

Groups and organisations will find a selection of meeting areas to suit various needs for training, seminars, social meeting groups and general activity programmes and events, plus outside spaces for smaller groups, situated adjacent to the lovely tropical garden.

HOW TO GET TO BAHAY NI iO?

From the Airport to iO

  • Via Grab or taxi
  • Via Bus and MRT
    • Take a bus going to Taft Ave MRT Station
    • Take the MRT Line 3 Northbound Train
    • Get off at GMA Kamuning MRT Station
    • Take a Grab, taxi, or jeepney to iO (10-minute Grab ride)

From Araneta Center – Cubao

  • Take a bus or jeepney bound to SM Fairview/ Philcoa/ Litex
  • Get off in front of Quezon City Hall
  • Ride a tricycle or walk to iO (5-minute tricycle ride; 15-minute walk)

From SM North EDSA

  • Take a jeepney bound to UP Diliman/ Philcoa
  • Get off in front of Quezon City Hall
  • Ride a tricycle or walk for 10 minutes to iO (5-minute tricycle ride; 15-minute walk)

Landmarks, Shopping, & Eating

Bahay ni iO (BnI) is centrally located at the heart of Quezon City. It is a short ride away from some of Quezon City's major landmarks, including the Quezon Memorial Circle and the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife, as well as major shopping malls such as SM City North Edsa, Trinoma, Vertis North, and UP Town Center.

BnI is at the government district of Quezon City with government offices, NGO offices, universities, and hospitals all a short ride away. It is located near Matalino Street and Kalayaan Street, which surround Quezon City Hall and several government offices along the Quezon City Elliptical Road. It is a short walk to East Avenue which has three government hospitals – Philippine Heart Center, East Avenue Medical Center, and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute. It is also a short ride near the University of the Philippines Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, and Miriam College. Offices of several NGOs are also located within the district.

BnI is a short walk from the main foodie street, Matalino Street. Among the popular Filipino restaurants along Matalino Street are Trellis, Gerry's Grill, Max's Restaurant, and Chicken Bacolod. Affordable Filipino fast food chains like Jollibee, Chowking, and Mang Inasal are also on Matalino Street. Asian choices include Muang Thai, Tokyo Tokyo, and Red Hana. Several cafes are also in the area including Banapple, UCC, and Seattle's Best Coffee. Small grocery stores like 7-Eleven are also nearby.
